ADHD Day Program
Who is this program for?
The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) program is for adults who have a diagnosis of ADHD and who are seeking support to manage their symptoms.
How will it help me?
The aim of the program is to provide participants with the correct framework through which to view their diagnosis apart from the many social myths that are prevalent and that often create feelings of guilt and shame. Material is presented containing a multitude of topics that enable participants to implement the ‘scaffolding’ necessary to compensate for deficits in in living a functional, meaningful life.
The focus on topics including attention, memory and executive functioning, as well as coping strategies, interpersonal relationship and life skills. Mindfulness is integrated throughout the program which includes learning the principles of mindfulness and skills training. This is integral because mindfulness is the antidote to attention problems.
When does it run?
This program runs on one night per week 5:30pm-8:45pm for 10 weeks duration. The final session will include a supportive information session for family and friends.
How do I get involved?
Admission to a Day Program requires a referral from a Melbourne Clinic accredited psychiatrist. A referral from your GP requesting an initial consultation with one of our Psychiatrists could be your first step. Click here to view the referral process.
