The Professorial Mood Disorders Unit is a 25 bed inpatient unit within the Melbourne Clinic.

It provides specialised treatment for depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, and other associated disorders with complex diagnostic and management problems.

The unit accepts referrals from general practitioners, psychiatrists and other medical practitioners.

Patients receive a comprehensive evaluation from the multidisciplinary team, a timely comprehensive management program is developed and initiated, and patients are customarily referred back to their referrer for ongoing treatment.
